We are coming back …

Does anyone truly remember the “two weeks to flatten the curve” myth that sent our community and our choirs into a tail-spin? We were well underway preparing our program for the spring of 2020 when we recessed for what we thought would be a short period of time. How wrong it turned out to be!

Now, after the success of May’s “Four Evenings To Sing!” we are in full planning mode for a December 7, 2022 Christmas Concert.

The choirs will begin rehearsal on Monday, September 19 for the Men and Wednesday, September 21 for the Women. Our music selections will feature many of the favourite seasonal selections we have performed over the past decade. The location of the rehearsals and concert will be announced shortly.

In Concert – Spring 2019

Over the summer months the membership of the choruses for the fall will be stabilized. Current members should watch for the emails asking for their commitment to our plans going forward. New members are welcome but subject to the number of positions that will be open within the sections.

Spring 2020 — a clear vision ahead!

The Men and the Women of the Tay Choirs are gearing up for their spring season. The concert, entitled “From the River”, will take place on Sunday, June 7 starting at 7:30 PM at St. James the Apostle Anglican Church in Perth.

First rehearsal for the Men will occur on Monday, February 3 from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM at St. James the Apostle Anglican Church in Perth.

First rehearsal for the Women will occur on Wednesday, February 5 from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM at St. James the Apostle Anglican Church in Perth.

The Men will continue to rehearse every Monday with the exception of Monday, February 17 (Family Day), Monday, April 13 (Easter Monday) and Monday, May 18 (Victoria Day).

The Women will continue to rehearse every Wednesday with the exception of Wednesday, February 26 (Ash Wednesday).

Both choirs will come together for rehearsals on Wednesday April 15 and Wednesday, May 20. There will be dress rehearsals on Monday, June 1 and Wednesday, June 3 in preparation for the concert.

What music will the choirs be performing? The concert is an all-Canadian lineup of exceptional songs from coast to coast. Taking its inspiration from Psalm 72:8, “He shall have dominion also from Sea to Sea, and from the River unto the ends of the Earth.”, a wide variety of arrangements will be interwoven with words made famous about Canada. This is guaranteed to be a wonderful experience for singer and audience alike.

There are still a few openings in the Men’s and Women’s choirs. For more information contact musicofthetay@gmail.com
